DC Swim Week Press Night July 20, 2016

I love events and I love swimwear so it’s no surprise I really enjoyed DC Swim Weeks Press night. Held at the beautiful Milano Café in Georgetown this was “the” event of the season. I arrived at 7pm at Café Milano and saw the beautiful red carpet leading upstairs. Greeted by the friendly event organizers I was captivated already.
Rounds of champagne and appetizers were passed among the attendees who all got to know each other a little better before the event started. It was an event with a fashion theme, but in DC, everyone is well educated and appreciative of the arts. I met many interesting people who worked in various fields (banking, military, science and engineering, and a few political players as well.) To your left is a photo of me at the event.

Unlike many traditional fashion presentations where the emphasis is strictly on the show or the models, this event was more of a meet and greet where you got to mingle with many different people and relax before the show. To your left is a photo of Oliwia Garaj who is one of the shows organizers.
I got more information on the other brands that will be showcased and plans for future shows this week. This swim show is reminding me more and more of Miami Swim Week but with a DC twist.
Once the models arrived and the swimwear was showcased it became very interesting. The models were all poised, and beautiful. The swimwear was very good and we got to hear statements from the brands Banana Moon, Livia Monte Carlo, and Universal Gear.

In attendance were International Miss Maryland Shenetta Malkia along with show organizers Oliwia Garaj, Barbara Collins and Moh Ducis.
